1994 was when I was first introduced to Brook. I started Bones Gang in 1991 when I was a student at Music Tech. I had just switched over to bass and we were a three-piece band and the guitar player we had been working with was also a friend of mine from Music Tech. About 6 months into our run, we had to part ways with our guitar player and my drummer, Blake Seybolt, who was still a student at Music Tech recommended a friend of his. Turned out it was Brook. I had never run into someone with his outrageous talent before. The guy was a musical force of nature and the energizer bunny when not playing. I often found it very hard to keep up with him. We played a few shows, but just not get any footing in the scene. We hung on to that lineup until 1996. We always kept in touch, and you'll find that we pop up together in a lot of the bands he was in. I restarted Bones Gang in 2001 and in 2005 when we were looking to let go of one of our guitar players, Brook essentially yelled at me for not asking him to rejoin Bones Gang. That's kind of how our relationship worked. We were like family and sometimes treated each other like brothers. Brook finally got the courage to try his hand at lead singing as well during this period. Turned out he was pretty good at that as well. I had written and recorded some original music, and it was sitting around unfinished. Brook took the time to finish it off while adding some of his talents which became our only release - Yesterday's Trash. R.I.P my brother
